With more than twenty years of clinical experience, Dr. Teng specializes in complementary cancer treatments, pain relief, and female disorders. Her areas of focus include cancer-related pain management, treatments for chemotherapy-associated side effects, post-surgery conditions, female disorders (including infertility), chronic degenerative conditions, fatigue, and neurological damage subsequent to neck and other surgeries.

 

Dr. Teng has worked extensively with cancer patients, using a variety of techniques to address their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Methods of treatment include acupuncture, acupressure, herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping, individualized movement and exercise instructions, Qi Gong for therapeutic applications, Emotional Freedom Technique, dietary guidance, and Auricular (Ear) Therapy, as well as meditation.

Dr. Teng is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L. Ac.), 1993 (New York), 1998 (New Jersey) and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine (B.Sc), (Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Harbin, China, July. 1986). After a rigorous education in China that included five years of intensive study and training at the prestigious Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Teng received her MD (China) with a focus on the use of acupuncture in the treatment of neurological diseases.

Dr. Teng has taught Traditional Chinese Medicine at U.S. colleges including at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She has also served as an acupuncturist for pain management and rehabilitation at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Teng has lectured widely and published many articles in professional journals. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Teng has worked as a clinician and researcher at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Since coming to the U.S., Dr. Teng has helped thousands of patients in her private practice, addressing a wide variety of problems. As a well-respected professor and clinician of acupuncture and herbal medicine, Dr. Teng has helped bring Traditional Chinese Medicine to the United States.
